Environment, Climate and Conservation

In recent decades human consumption has accelerated. We now face the consequences, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, biodiversity loss, species extinction and food & water insecurity amongst others. These issues are already affecting economies, societies, habitats and wildlife around the world – impacting all of us, and especially those already vulnerable.

We also know that we are the generation who can still act on these issues and are encouraged by the mobilisation worldwide. That is why, at Oxford HR, we support and are passionate about working with organisations seeking sustainable solutions and we are working to become a greener business ourselves.

Many members of our team have worked for environmental, climate and conservation organisations and programmes, so we are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and networks to identify exceptional candidates to fulfil the leadership roles needed to safeguard our future and protect the natural world.

We have a strong track record in environmental assignments, placing senior leaders and trustees with clients such as WWF, Greenpeace, WeForest, Blue Ventures, 360.org, Earthwatch, Sahara Conservation Fund, the Global Climate Fund, Water Witness International, Practical Action and many more.

The world is changing, and we are collectively seeking new and innovative ways to address the unprecedented challenges we face. Earth Day 2020

We know we are the generation who can act on the climate change crisis and still make a difference 🌎. In support of earthday2020 Oxford HR created a video with some of our staff and for every share of it we received, we planted a tree with our partners Just One Tree, resulting in 151 trees being planted in Madagascar.🌱 searchforabetterworld climateaction

As part of our Knowledge Festival 2021, we held a panel discussing on Inclusion for Climate Progress. We explored what inclusion means in the context of climate and environmental action, how leaders and organisations can bring different people into the conversation and the benefits of an inclusive approach to tackling the climate crisis – important themes in the year of COP26. Featuring four panellists including Shweta Bahri, Co-Founder of Earth Warriors, Sarah Roberts, Interim CEO at Practical Action, Catriona Corfield – Head of Diversity and Inclusion at the Woodland Trust and Binyam Yakob Gebreyes, Researcher at International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).

Just One Tree

Oxford HR is committed to not only searching for the best global talent for the needs of the For Purpose sector, but also recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are continually striving to reduce our environmental impact and improve our performance, as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods. We also encourage our customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to do the same.

As part of this commitment, we are supporting the Not-for-Profit organisation, Just One Tree. For every candidate that we place we will plant 10 trees, and up to 25 trees when placing a CEO level role. In addition to this, Oxford HR have committed to a regular planting of 25 trees a month as of January 2020.
