Neil joined Oxford HR in 2021 after completing a PhD in political studies at the University of Cape Town, where he researched and taught on human rights and international institutions. He has over 20 years work experience in the private, public, and academic sectors, working within the UK, Germany, and South Africa, including as a government economic development specialist for the creative and cultural industries in London. Reporting to both the Mayor of London and central government, he was responsible for promoting and growing the diversity, depth, and energy of the creative industries, through engaging with corporate stakeholders, encouraging private and public investment, providing support for business growth and promoting London as an international centre for culture and commerce. He also has a master’s in international relations, with a focus on mining in Africa, and a keen interest in equitable and sustainable development and learning new languages.
