Mark joined Oxford HR in 2021, based in Hong Kong. He has an MSc in Development Studies and ten years’ experience as a social specialist on internationally-funded projects in Africa, Asia and Europe, providing social development inputs in the contexts of rural development, natural resources conservation and management, infrastructure development, manufacturing and real estate master-planning on behalf of international financial institutions, donors, funds and private developers. He has held long-term residential social specialist positions – on a DfID environmental development project in SW China and an EU participatory conservation project in NE Thailand – and led preparation of a number of Social Impact Assessments and Resettlement Action Plans according to international best practice (such as the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards). Mark was a key member of URS/Scott Wilson’s (now AECOM) internal team for the preparation of the company’s first global corporate Sustainability Strategy.
In addition Mark has eight years’ experience in executive search with leading international search firms, identifying, shortlisting, coaching and placing senior professionals across various sectors, working with multinational corporations across Asia.
Mark is also a qualified and practising counsellor and instrumental music teacher. He has a passion for the outdoors and travel, and enjoys playing brass and keyboards in a variety of musical ensembles.
