Christel Eijkholt

Associate Principal Consultant

Christel E

Christel joined Oxford HR in 2022 as an associate senior consultant while finishing her PhD research on child rights and global citizenship at Utrecht University. She has over 25 years of experience in international development, with a special focus on Education and gender, diversity and inclusion.

She kicked-off her professional career as a programme officer for Cordaid/Asia. Afterwards, she worked as an associate expert on child labour for the ILO, based in Dhaka. From there, she moved on to the field of education and SRHR for the UN and the International HIV/Aids Alliance in Ulaanbataar, Oxfam Novib in The Hague, and then as a senior policy advisor on education at the Dutch Embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in The Hague. During the last 10 years she has worked as a programme director for a private fund investing in innovations and quality improvements in early childhood care and education in The Netherlands, while still doing international assignments as an advisor on Education, youth and gender for WorldBank/GPE, UNICEF and Foreign Affairs.

In Christels’ spare time her interests include her family, reading, arts and culture.
