Dara Walsh

Principal Consultant, Europe

Dara joined Oxford HR in 2024 with 15 years of experience in executive search and global public health projects. Her executive search experience covers several agencies including Heidrick & Struggles, Perrett Laver, and Minerva in London, with a primary focus on the International Development and Higher Education Sectors.

Previously Dara’s career was in the fields of Public Health and International Development. She worked for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Bureau for Global Health (HIV/AIDS), Orphans and Vulnerable Children Unit in Washington, D.C., Demographic and Health Surveys also in Washington, D.C., and the International Planned Parenthood Federation in London. Most recently she worked on consultancy projects for UNICEF in Azerbaijan.

After her undergraduate study at the University of California, San Diego, and at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, Dara served with the US Peace Corps in Morocco as a Community Development Volunteer, working in a hospital in a remote village.

Dara gained Masters degrees in Demography and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and in Health Science (International Health) from George Mason University (USA), which included study at Oxford University.

Dara has spent 13 years living, working and studying in developing countries across Africa and Asia. Having grown up in a refugee camp in the Philippines where her parents were working, she has developed an interest in migration and refugees. She is passionate about experiencing other cultures and learning languages.

Dara is a single mum with two small children. When time allows, she enjoys playing racket sports and is currently a member of the Real Tennis Club at Hampton Court Palace. She got her start in the sport at Oxford University, where she played on the women’s team.
