Winnie Byanyima is appointed as the Executive Director of UNAIDS

OxfordHR extend our huge congratulations to Winnie Byanyima on her appointment as the Executive Director of UNAIDS. OxfordHR were delighted to act as the Executive Search firm of choice for this role.

OxfordHR were part of a comprehensive search selection that involved a search committee constituted by members of the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board. Ms Byanyima has been the Executive Director of Oxfam International since 2013.

Ruth joined Oxford HR in 2018 after completing a BA in international history at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She completed multiple economic development courses, in addition to her dissertation which she wrote on the Anglo-American response to the AIDS epidemic, looking at international relations through a human rights lens.
