Interim Managers

An interim manager is usually hired for between three months and one year to help your organisation at a time of structural or strategic change or to fill a gap in senior management. An interim manager gives your organisation instant access to a senior staff member with the skills and experience to respond to your needs. S/he comes in to your organisation and manages a function and the people who work in it.

Consultants come to the organisation and offer a specific skill and / or outcome but they remain, essentially, outside the organisation. They may offer guidance on strategy or a particular aspect of your organisation. They do not usually manage staff members in the organisation although they may manage a team of consultants.
